Description:
The 1923-S Peace Dollar is a key San Francisco issue in the early years of the Peace Dollar series. Struck from 90% silver, it carries forward Anthony de Francisci’s symbolic design honoring peace after World War I, with Liberty in radiant profile on the obverse and a serene eagle resting on a rock with the word “PEACE” below on the reverse.
Graded AU55 by ANACS, this example exhibits strong remaining luster and sharp definition in Liberty’s hair and the eagle’s feathers—hallmarks of a well-struck, higher-end circulated piece. The San Francisco Mint is known for producing Peace Dollars with a slightly more delicate strike, making this lustrous AU55 example an excellent representation of the issue.
Encapsulated in an ANACS holder, this coin is ideal for collectors seeking a certified, near-uncirculated example with real visual appeal and secure long-term storage. High-resolution images highlight both detail and surface quality, offering a full appreciation of its preserved beauty.
